Young Space held its very first exhibition of contemporary artwork by young and emerging artists in mid-April 2015. This unique pop-up exhibition in downtown Appleton, Wisconsin aimed to bring together work by artists whose practices span a wide range of media and concepts in order to highlight the fresh, unique perspectives of students, recent graduates, and established artists fielding new ideas. This show marked the first of a planned series of pop-up shows in various locations around Northeast Wisconsin during the course of 2015.
An opening reception was held Friday, April 10 from 6-9pm and featured live music by Searchlights, a local post-rock ambient duo. Hors d’oeuvres were provided by local caterer Seven Boutique Catering, along with coffee by local coffee shop kc&t (based in Kaukauna).
