Back in June, around the time of the Edinburgh College of Art degree show, this blog shared the marvelous recycled designs by artist Waël Seaiby called PLAG, which utilized multicolored shopping bags from supermarkets, ground down to a powder, and molded into shape as beautiful decorative bowls and vases. Since then, Seaiby has been at work on this and another project called oh, no! Yesterday he launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kritical Mass to start the oh, no! brand and studio dedicated to designing and producing beautiful objects from waste materials, such as jewelry from industry offcuts and discarded hosepipes. Check out the short animation below to see what he’s up to, and consider a donation on Kritical Mass where Seaiby is offering some original PLAG works as incentive!
