If you find yourself in (or within a train ride) from Milan next week, one stop worth making would be to see Young Space-featured artist Maria Teresa Ortoleva’s installation of Triumphus Visionis, originally commissioned by Universita Cattolica UCSC in Milan for the stair of honors of the university, and at the Vatican Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015. The 10-meter long digital print on chiffon will again be installed at Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro from 21 September – 15 October 2016. The beautiful, site-specific work presents an enquiry into image archives, digital databases and search engines, as well as into the history of the genre of bestiaries, diagrammatic representation and forms of graphic transposition of imaginative thinking.
